Virtual Area Sales Manager - Distribution

Virtual Area Sales Representative – Distribution Channel (UK&I)

Reporting to: UK&I Distribution Channel Lead


About the Role

Schneider Electric is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Virtual Area Sales Representative to grow sales, strengthen market share, and contribute to Schneider Electric’s £350m–£0.5bn (by 2027) Distribution growth plan.

This role specialises in electrical distribution, offering the opportunity to develop relationships, drive structured selling, and leverage digital engagement while collaborating closely with field sales colleagues.


Mission

You will be responsible for growing revenue by effectively using:

  • Schneider Electric’s brand and innovative products
  • Sales enablement tools, including:
    • Salesforce CRM
    • Gaps To Target & Statement Reports
    • Comprehensive dashboards & promotions

Core focus: Building strong customer relationships and internal alignment to transition opportunities from desk-based strategies to field-driven bids and wins.

Your key impact:

  • Sales accountability across the Distribution Channel in assigned regions.
  • Conversion of opportunities into orders through structured selling techniques.
  • Collaborative bid success with field teams, IT experts, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Sales Ownership & Target Delivery

  • Achieve sales and order targets for assigned regions through:
    • Gap to Target analysis
    • SPA (Statement of Position Alignment) management
    • Defined call lists, value-added drivers, and promotions
    • Campaign alignment (sell-out and sell-in strategies)
  • Execute portfolio-wide value propositions with the channel team.

Customer Engagement & Digital Interaction

  • Maintain high levels of virtual customer interaction to:
    • Build value-driven relationships
    • Leverage digital tools for proactive customer narratives.

Value-Based Selling & Opportunity Scoping

  • Identify and scope complex opportunities with stakeholders.
  • Execute cross-sell/up-sell strategies to maximise wallet share.

CRM, Data Management & Collaboration

  • Maintain accurate Salesforce records (contacts, call logs, action plans).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with:
    • Field sales
    • Business units
    • Service delivery to ensure seamless execution.

Key Requirements

Experience & Skills

✔ Proven sales experience ideally in Electrical Distribution, Home Automation, or Buildings sectors. ✔ Proficient digital skills (Teams, Outlook, Salesforce). ✔ Strong numerical acumen combined with articulate communication (verbal/written). ✔ Demonstrated self-motivation: forward-thinking problem solver. ✔ Ability to work independently & collaboratively in a results-driven team. ✔ Experience channel-led sales is advantageous. ✔ Basic knowledge of circuit protection/products (a plus).
