About the Role
This is a full-time Virtualisation Engineer position on a hybrid basis (mix of on-site work and remote work).
In this role, you will:
- Design, implement, and maintain virtual infrastructure solutions across client environments, ensuring performance, reliability, and security.
- Configure hypervisors (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V) and virtual machines.
- Manage storage and networking for virtual platforms, including VLANs, switches, firewalls, and shared storage (SAN/NAS).
- Perform capacity planning and optimization to support scalability.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure issues, automate routine tasks, and maintain documentation of architectures, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with consultants and client stakeholders to understand requirements, contribute to solution designs, and support lifecycle management—from initial planning through deployment and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Optimization
- Design and implement virtualized infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Automate repetitive tasks using scripting/languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) and configuration management tools.
- Monitor virtual environments and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.

Collaboration & Delivery
- Work closely with stakeholders to translate technical and business requirements into solution designs.
- Support cloud and hybrid migration initiatives, including AWS, Azure, and GCP integration.

Documentation & Best Practices
- Maintain clear documentation of designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Share knowledge with team members and clients to ensure sustainable and maintainable systems.
Qualifications & Experience
We’re looking for a highly capable Virtualisation Engineer with:
Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with virtualization platforms:
- VMware vSphere
- Microsoft Hyper-V (or comparable hypervisors).
- Expertise in Windows and Linux server administration.
- Knowledge of virtual networking (e.g., VLANs, switches, firewalls) and shared storage (SAN/NAS).
- Exposure to cloud and hybrid infrastructure, including:
- Experience with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Migration or ** Hybridization** scenarios.
- Proficiency in scripting-automation tools such as:
- PowerShell
- Python
- Configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform*).
- Strong skills in performance monitoring, capacity planning, and troubleshooting using relevant IP/ops tools.

Soft Skills & Mindset
- Ability to clear communication of technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in consultancy or project-based environments with a problem-solving mindset.
- Strong customer-focused approach to deliver value-driven solutions.
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., VCP, MCSE, Azure Administrator) are considered an advantage.
