About the Role
Embedded within the Advanced Manufacturing team, this role acts as the technical lead for vision and inspection technologies across RPSI manufacturing sites in EMEA. With deep expertise in machine vision, inspection systems, sensors, lighting, and image processing, this specialist will drive innovation to enhance product quality, process capability, and operational reliability. The role ensures technical alignment and deployment of inspection solutions while representing plant needs in regional strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Ownership & Deployment
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and deployment of vision and inspection technologies, including:
- 2D/3D vision systems
- Cameras
- Sensors
- Lighting solutions
- Image processing platforms
- Ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose, scalable, and aligned with quality, safety, and operational objectives.
- Manage vendor collaboration, integration, commissioning, and validation across sites.
- Oversee the lifecycle management of vision technologies, including upgrades, obsoleteness planning, and standardization.
- Build and maintain a network of best-in-class vendors for vision and inspection technologies.

Feasibility & Value Assessment
- Conduct technical feasibility studies and performance evaluations for proposed inspection solutions.
- Support business case development for automation investments.
- Identify cost-saving and productivity opportunities through vision-based defect detection, yield improvement, and process robustness.
Regional Coordination
- Lead frequent improvement initiatives, such as:
- False reject reduction programs
- Vendor-supported implementations
- System optimization visits across EMEA sites
- Champion a tailored, unified approach to inspection needs, balancing local constraints and scalability.
- Coordinate regional rollouts, ensuring operational readiness and consistency.
- Facilitate cross-site collaboration and knowledge sharing on vision technology best practices.
Integration & Collaboration
- Work closely with Automation, Controls, OT (Operational Technology), and Digital teams for seamless integration.
- Align vision solutions with Industry 4.0 and digital transformation initiatives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve inspection-related challenges with plant teams.
Capability Building & Innovation
- Share lessons learned, technical standards, and best practices across RPSI sites.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, including AI-based inspection and advanced sensors.
- Support training and mentoring of plant teams on modern inspection practices.

Requirements
- Proven expertise in deploying and supporting industrial vision and inspection systems in manufacturing.
- Strong technical knowledge of:
- Machine vision
- Cameras
- Lighting and sensors
- Image processing
- Integration with controls, OT, and IoT platforms
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and project management skills.
- Analytical mindset, with a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Ability to coach teams on next-generation inspection tools.
- Commitment to smart manufacturing and quality excellence.
- Willingness to:
- Innovate and develop scalable solutions.
- Travel frequently across EMEA manufacturing sites.
