Care can be tailored from brief weekly visits to round-the-clock assistance, depending on individual needs. Role Description

This full-time on-site Visiting Carer role is based in Derby and focuses on providing person-centered support to individuals in their own homes. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with personal care, mobility, meal preparation, medication prompts, and light household tasks to help people live safely and comfortably. The Visiting Carer offers companionship, emotional support, and practical help, such as accompanying individuals to appointments, social activities, or community events. The role involves following individual care plans, documenting care provided, and communicating effectively with the wider care team and family members. Visiting Carers are expected to uphold high standards of dignity, respect, and confidentiality while promoting independence and choice for each person supported.

  • Ability to deliver compassionate, person-centered care, including personal care, mobility support, and assistance with daily living tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust, provide companionship, and work collaboratively with families and colleagues.
  • Organizational and time-management skills to follow care plans, maintain accurate records, and manage a schedule of home visits.
  • Reliability and professionalism, including maintaining confidentiality, respecting individual preferences, and adhering to care and safety guidelines.
  • Willingness to travel locally in Derby for home visits; a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are beneficial.
  • Previous experience in care or support work is advantageous but not essential; full training can be provided.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills to read care plans, follow instructions, and document care delivered.
  • Right to work in the UK and flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
