About Wetherby Pembridge

Wetherby Pembridge, Inspired’s newest senior co-educational school opening in Olympia, London (September 2025), provides elite academic, arts, and sporting opportunities for Years 7–13. Leveraging Inspired’s international best practices, the school includes state-of-the-art facilities such as:

  • Full science labs and a seven-floor glass atrium library
  • Professional theatre facilities
  • Creative & performing arts programmes
  • Premium co-curricular sports provision

Now developing its Music programme, Wetherby Pembridge seeks a driven Singing Teacher to establish a world-class vocal offer, working with the Founding Head of Music.


Role Summary

A uniquely opening-school position, this role involves:

  • Teaching individual voice lessons with a focus on excellence and enjoyment.
  • Driving the founding Music programme for a high-performing senior school.
  • Collaborating with the Head of Music to develop curricular standards, ensembles, and performance culture.
  • Delivering a bespoke Music experience that aligns with Inspired’s global excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Student Progress

  • Deliver high-quality individual singing lessons tailored to each pupil’s ability and goals.
  • Record and track pupil progress, providing clarity through assessments and feedback.
  • Set individual practice targets and support students in achieving academic and performance outcomes.
  • Safe working practices mandatory to comply with school safeguarding guidelines.

Music Exams

  • Maintain proficiency in ABRSM, Rockschool, and Trinity syllabi, guiding students toward successful exams.
  • Prepare pupils for auditions, public performances and other challenges.

Communication

  • Weekly progress reports to the Head of Music via departmental systems, including concerns and achievements.
  • Parent consultations as needed or requested.

Departmental Engagement

  • Direct ensembles, activities, or extracurricular sessions when scheduled.
  • Proactively align curriculum, group lessons, and private tuition standards with the Head of Music.
  • Attend and participate in school music events, supporting promotional and celebratory initiatives.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Musical Qualifications: Degree, ABRSM Distinction, Trinity College Diploma or equivalent recognised qualification to voice/teaching territory.
  • Performance Standards: Possess high-level vocal ability and professional career demonstrating performance excellence.
  • Teaching Experience with singing students across ages/abilities (e.g. Y7–13).
  • Strong Pedagogical Skills: Knowledge of differentiation, SEN inclusion, student-led learning, and supervision schemes.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Can engage students, parents, and colleagues with professionalism, flexibility, and empathy.
  • Academic & Administrative Portraiture:
    • Lesson planning | Timetabling | Record keeping
    • Familiarity with adaptive technologies for music (e.g., established platforms or digital resources)
  • Collaborative Ethos: Commitment to group refinement, departmentary expansion, and leadership-mindedness.
  • Artistic Vision: Driven by imaginative outcomes, not only tuition mastery, but encouragement of studentalaising and growth.
