Singing Teacher | Wetherby Pembridge (Autumn 2026 Start)

Wetherby Pembridge is a new, co-educational senior school opening in Olympia, London (September 2025)—a partnership building on the success of Wetherby and Pembridge Hall Pre-Prep/Prep schools. It offers:

This is an exciting opportunity to help develop high-performing music provision from Day One. The Singing Teacher will work closely with the Founding Head of Music, contributing to an innovative, ambitious, and comprehensive Music programme for this chapter of the school’s journey.

Key Responsibilities
Core Teaching & Safeguarding
- Deliver the highest-quality individual singing lessons for pupils.
- Model vocal excellence to inspire and engage students.
- Uphold strict safeguarding standards in alignment with school policies.
Pupil Progress & Assessment
- Design, deliver, and tailor age-appropriate, individualised lessons.
- Maintain detailed records of pupil progress and achievements.
- Set clear practice targets each week and track student development.
Music Exams
- Demonstrate expertise in ABRSM, Rockschool, or Trinity exam syllabuses.
- Prepare students for external music assessments where applicable.
Departmental Engagement
- Lead ensembles, group lessons, or activities as scheduled/work requested.
- Collaborate to ensure department consistency in curriculum, lesson structure, and student experience.
- Support music events throughout the year.
Communication
- Use school systems to notify the Head of Music of pupil progress or concerns.
- Communicate transparently with parents or guardians as needed.
Ideal Candidate

Essential:
- Recognited teaching qualification (including music specialisation) or equivalent professional experience.
- Advanced vocal performance skills with experience in high standards of interpretation.
- Proven experience teaching in schools:
- Individual lessons across ages & abilities.
- Ensemble leadership (e.g., choirs, vocal groups).
- Strong pedagogy knowledge:
- Differentiation, inclusion, and student-centred learning.
- Communication skills:
- Clear feedback for students, parents, and peers.
- Organisational Rigour:
- Lesson planning, record-keeping, and technology use (rehearsal/assessment apps, etc.).
- Collaborative mindset:
- Proactive teamwork in dynamic, growing departments.
Nice-to-Have:
- Leadership experience in establishing a new music programme.
- Familiarity with co-ed senior school environments.
Commitments & Safeguarding
- Inspired will undertake enhanced safeguarding checks as part of the hiring process.
- Successful candidates must align with principles of safeguarding and pupil welfare.
