Visitor Experience & Retail Assistant

Greene King – Belhaven Brewery

As a Visitor Experience & Retail Assistant, you will create memorable and enjoyable brewery experiences for every visitor while supporting the smooth operation of the Belhaven Brewery site and shop. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Welcoming guests
  • Delivering engaging tours
  • Maintaining retail and cellar standards
  • Ensuring safety and operational efficiency
  • Collaborating across departments to enhance the visitor offering

Working Hours: Every Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional visitor experiences through:

    • Meet-and-greet, guided tours, and storytelling
    • Guiding each visit with enthusiasm and professionalism
  • Support retail operations by:

    • манаging sales, merchandising, and accurate cash handling
    • Ensuring smooth transaction processes
  • Maintain high standards in:

    • Cleanliness
    • Presentation
    • Cellar upkeep (including weekly line cleaning)
  • Uphold health & safety procedures:

    • Briefing visitors and team on requirements
    • Reporting any concerns immediately

Requirements & Qualifications

Your role demands the following:

For the Role:

  • Memorable visitor experiences through tour guiding, storytelling, and engagement
  • Retail excellence: sales, merchandising, cash handling
  • Cleanliness & hygiene: weekly cellar maintenance and site standards
  • Health & safety expertise: procedural adherence and visitor briefing

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven experience in customer-facing roles, preferably in:
    • Retail, hospitality, or tourism
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills with a warm approach
  • Confidence in cash handling, till usage (EPOS systems)
  • Flexibility & adaptability, with prioritisation skills
  • Proactive attitude: initiative, teamwork, willingness to learn
