If you have a passion for Winchester and enjoy helping others, we have an excellent opportunity to join our Visitor Information Centre team.
You will play a key role in delivering a high standard of customer service to both visitors and residents, providing accurate, engaging, and helpful information on local attractions, events, and services. The role also includes retail responsibilities, such as selling souvenirs and gifts using an EPOS system, as well as administering and booking guided group tours of the city.
Working collaboratively with tourism businesses across the Winchester District and colleagues within the wider tourism team, you will contribute to supporting the local visitor economy in line with the district’s tourism strategy.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, enthusiastic, and adaptable, with a positive and flexible approach to work. You will have a strong knowledge of Winchester and the surrounding area, be educated to GCSE level (or equivalent), and possess a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Excellent communication skills, including a professional telephone manner and a strong commitment to customer service, are essential. The ability to speak a foreign language would be desirable.
