Finance Partner – Technology & Digital (FTDgender: Male/Female/Neutral)

Location

Newbury (Hybrid)

Salary & Benefits

Working Hours & Flexibility

  • Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
  • Monday to Friday
  • Hybrid model:
    • Flexible with 2–3 office days per week (minimum 8 office days/month)
    • Align work schedule with line manager based on role-specific needs

The Role: Finance Partner – Corporate, IT & Digital

You’ll be the key finance partner to our IT and Digital functions, driving financial performance, governance, and strategic investment decisions. This role bridges financial oversight with business outcomes, ensuring IT spending aligns with commercial priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Oversight

    • Own end-to-end financial governance across IT spend, investment programmes, and operational costs.
    • Ensure alignment between technology spend, delivery, and commercial outcomes.
  • Strategic Partnership

    • Partner with senior IT leaders to drive financial performance, challenge decisions positively, and support strategic planning.
    • Provide proactive financial insights, identifying risks/opportunities to inform commercial decisions.
  • Planning & Forecasting

    • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for IT and Digital functions.
    • Drive cost efficiency by identifying savings without compromising quality.
  • Financial Analysis & Reporting

    • Deliver clear financial analysis, including variance analysis, risks, and opportunities.
    • Improve forecasting, reporting, and financial processes for greater transparency.
  • Expertise & Governance

    • Act as a subject-matter expert in finance systems (e.g., Oracle) for month-end processes.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Technology, Finance, and Procurement to ensure consistency.

Eligibility & Requirements

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Commercially astute finance professional with technology/digital partnership experience.
  • Strong financial planning & forecasting skills, including managing complex cost bases.
  • Proactive and influential: Capable of challenging stakeholders and driving accountability.
  • Analytical mindset: Turns complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Fast-paced execution: Comfortable in evolving environments with multiple priorities.
  • Process improvement focus: Proven track record in enhancing financial governance, reporting, and systems.
  • Qualifications preferred:
    • ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent financial qualifications.
    • Strong technical foundation with hands-on finance systems (Oracle) experience.
