VodafoneThree - Health and Safety Lead
Senior Health, Safety & Environment Manager (Customer-facing)
Location: Customer-Site – 3 days per week (East Suffolk) Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits
Working Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) – Monday to Friday
Security Clearance Required: Ability to undergo and obtain Security Clearance (SC)

- Directly supporting customers with safe, compliant project delivery.
Your Role: Senior Health & Safety Manager
As a critical safety and compliance advisor, you’ll ensure VodafoneThree’s VBTS customer-driven teams align with:
- Health & Safety regulations
- Customer contractual obligations
- Company policies and industry best practices
Your KPIs: ✔ Set the safety standard for one or more dedicated UK accounts as the primary HSE point of contact—delivering expert guidance to:
- Employees
- Subcontractors
- Customers
- Regulators

✔ Deeply understand contractual, regulatory, and customer requirements across builds, deliveries, and operations.
✔ Provide evidence-backed risk management via practical, consultative advice.
✔ Work in partnership with account and project teams to enforce company procedures and regulatory standards.
✔ Be the SME for vetting third-party contractors—ensuring their HSE competencies align with Vodafone’s standards.
✔ Champion consistent HSE adherence across all dedicated account activities.
Key Responsibilities
Core Accountabilities
- Provide expert advice on legal compliance, safety culture, and operational risks.
- Lead third-party contractor assessments to guarantee safe delivery.
- Enhance HSE process consistency and monitor compliance across accounts.
Collaborative Action
- Engage with customer teams, account managers, suppliers, and internal oversight.
- Translate complex legal and technical requirements into clear, actionable safety plans.
Requirements
Industry Expertise
- In-depth knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental law, including:
- Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulations
- HSE and Environment Agency (EA) guidelines
Practical Experience
- Proven experience in:
- Implementation and monitoring of Safety Management Systems (SMS).
- Development, delivery, and tracking of Safety Systems of Work (SSOW).
Competencies
- NEBOSH diploma, NVQ Level 6+ (or pursuing equivalent qualifications).
- Self-motivated but collaborative—can operate independently while fostering positive relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
