Welsh Voice Actor / Voice-Over Artist (AI Speech Recording)
About The Role
What if your Welsh voice could directly shape how AI understands the way real people in Wales speak? We're looking for professional voice actors and voice-over artists with an authentic Welsh accent to take part in paid in-studio recording sessions for a leading AI speech research project.
Your voice will help AI systems better recognise and understand natural human conversation—making technology more accurate and inclusive for Welsh English speakers. This project does not involve voice cloning.

- Commitment: 2–3 sessions of approximately 4 hours each

- Recording natural, conversational Welsh English speech in a professional studio environment
- Participating in single-speaker sessions and dual-speaker dialogue recordings
- Delivering realistic, human-sounding dialogue (balanced between scripted and unscripted tones)
- Following light direction to vary tone, pacing, and delivery across different scenarios
- Bringing authenticity and professionalism to each session
Qualifications
Mandatory
- A professional voice actor or voice-over artist with studio recording experience
- A native or near-native Welsh accent speaker—your accent is your primary qualification
- Currently based in Wales and able to attend in-person studio sessions
- Fluent in English at a working level
- Comfortable performing natural, conversational dialogue (not just scripted reads)
- Reliable, professional, and receptive to direction

Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Acting or performance background
- Experience in broadcast, podcast production, or previous studio recording work
- Comfort performing both solo monologue and unscripted dialogue exchanges
