Pre-Production Assistant

PitStop is seeking a highly motivated Pre-Production Assistant to join our Voiceover and Performance Capture Department to help cover increased project demands at our Head Office in South Yorkshire.

We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive, and eager to contribute to a fast-paced creative environment. Whether you're looking for your first role in production or already have relevant experience, we'd love to hear from you.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to build a career in production management, and candidates who join with more experience may have the opportunity to progress more quickly as they demonstrate their capabilities.

The successful candidate will support senior members of the team, maintaining exceptional organisational standards while bringing fresh ideas to improve workflows and processes. PitStop's team of passionate creatives work across Voice, Performance Capture, Sound Design, Music, and Visual departments on an exciting range of video game titles, from indie projects to AAA productions. Together, we deliver world-class audio content for clients across the global videogames industry, and we're looking for someone who will thrive in this collaborative, creative environment.

Responsibilities

The right candidate will be required to assist in the pre-production planning of voiceover and performance capture recordings for computer games. This will include:

  • Breaking down scripts to collate metrics and data required for project estimates
  • Preparing assets and documentation for recording and post-production
  • Tracking the progress of recording and post-production
  • Reporting production blockage issues to senior members of the team
  • Supporting with the creation of casting materials
  • Sending casting calls/packs out to talent agencies
  • Collating and organising talent audition files
  • Liaising with talent agencies to collate the availability of cast actors
  • Supporting with creating efficient recording schedules
  • Booking and contracting of actors, providing call sheets and prep scripts
  • Liaising with external studios
  • Supporting other members of the team with ad-hoc tasks when required

Required experience and skills

Essential

  • Ability to organise and prioritise workloads
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organisational and file management skills
  • Highly proficient with word processing and spreadsheet programs, specifically Excel and Google Sheets
  • Accuracy in mathematics
  • Understanding of the different genres/tones/styles of video games

Desirable

  • Experience of voice recording, post-production and editing
  • Previous experience in casting
  • Project Management knowledge or experience
  • An understanding of good voice acting performances

Salary

£26,300 - £27,750 per annum (experience dependent).

Working hours

9.30am - 6pm working Monday – Friday in office, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break
