Voluntary Retirement and Return

FOR NHS GGC Retire and Return

For INTERNAL NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) Staff Only

NHSGGC Retire and Return

Employees considering retirement should notify their manager at least 6 months before their planned retirement date if they are interested in retire and return. They must also notify their manager if they wish to access phased retirement.

Please note you must have a minimum of a 24 hour break between your termination date and reemployment.

Application Requirements

Only those employees whose request was already approved, by their line manager and their department's general/senior manager, on the following categories must submit an application for contract via this portal:

  • I am returning on a part-time or full-time basis to my current post.
  • I am returning to another post within the same job family.
