Role Description

The Volunteer Business Development Executive role is a remote, volunteer position focused on helping grow SkilledUp Life’s partnerships and user base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and research potential partner tech companies and organizations.
  • Engage with prospects via email, social media, and virtual meetings.
  • Present the value of the SkilledUp Life volunteer marketplace.
  • Support the creation and refinement of outreach materials.
  • Track conversations and leads in simple CRM or tracking tools.
  • Collaborate with the team to improve business development strategies.
  • Contribute to increasing platform awareness and strengthening relationships with existing partners.
  • Gather feedback to enhance services.

This role offers practical experience in business development within a tech-focused environment.


Qualifications

Required

  • Strong interest in business development, sales, or partnerships, with the ability to research and identify opportunities.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including comfort with professional email, virtual meetings, and presentations.
  • Basic understanding of technology or startups, and a willingness to learn about volunteer marketplaces and SaaS-style platforms.
  • Ability to organize tasks, manage simple tracking tools or spreadsheets, and follow up consistently with prospects.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently in a remote setting, and collaborate effectively with a distributed team.
  • Comfort using common online tools such as:
    • Video conferencing platforms
    • Email
    • Collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Slack).
