Volunteer Location: ‘ADS’s Charity Shop in High Street Maidenhead

Volunteer Role: Charity Shop Assistant

We are looking for volunteers to help in our very busy shop.

Main Tasks

Duties include:

  • Helping customers with their purchases
  • Encouraging donators to complete Gift Aid forms
  • Taking cash and card payments and issuing refunds
  • Using the shop till to record sales
  • Keeping the retail area tidy
  • Steaming donated clothing
  • Labelling items and merchandising

Required Skills, Qualities & Experience

We require the shop volunteers to be enthusiastic, polite and approachable with good communication skills, attention to detail, aware of surroundings and self-motivation. Retail experience is preferred but not necessary. The volunteer will need to work as part of a team of volunteers and staff.

Days & Time Required

Flexible but likely to be a day a week or two half days per week.

Training & Support Provided

Training, support and guidance will be given to you by staff and other experienced volunteers during the role. All volunteers will require DBS, which ‘ADS’ will organise
