At AquaPaddle, our mission is straightforward: we deliver free, timed 5km paddle sessions on rivers, lakes, and coastal waterways across the UK to boost mental health, physical fitness, and local community connections. As our charity expands nationwide, securing sustainable funding is essential to keeping these sessions accessible to everyone.
We are looking for a proactive, results-driven Volunteer Fundraiser based in the UK to help lead our funding strategy and scale our BlueSpace wellbeing initiatives.
Whether you are an experienced UK fundraiser looking to lend your expertise to a meaningful cause, or a skilled grant writer wanting to build a high-impact portfolio in the health and outdoor sports sector, we would love to hear from you.
What you will be doing:
- Grant and Trust Applications: Identify, write, and submit funding proposals to UK trusts, foundations, and public health grants.
- Corporate CSR Partnerships: Build relationships with businesses looking to support community wellbeing and environmental health through corporate partnerships and sponsorships.
- Fundraising Strategy: Help plan, deliver, and monitor fundraising campaigns aligned with our charitable goals.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate positive, long-term connections with individual supporters, grant-makers, and organizational partners.
- Pipeline Tracking: Keep accurate records of funding applications and provide clear progress updates to the team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
