Help Every Child Online build our grant funding function.
Use your bid writing and fundraising expertise to secure funding for digital inclusion, online safety and work experience projects that will change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people.

By helping us build a sustainable grant funding function, you'll enable us to move from reacting to opportunities to proactively planning and delivering new programmes.
The funding you help secure will allow us to provide more refurbished computers to children and families experiencing digital exclusion, expand our online safety education to help young people stay safe in an increasingly connected world, and create more work experience opportunities that prepare young adults for employment and future careers.
Your contribution will also strengthen the charity itself. By establishing a structured approach to grant fundraising, you'll leave a lasting legacy that continues to benefit the organisation long after individual applications have been submitted. You'll help us build confidence, increase sustainability and create a stronger financial foundation for future growth.

What are we looking for?
We're looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference and excited by the opportunity to help a growing charity secure the funding it needs to expand its impact.
Ideally, you'll have experience of researching funding opportunities and writing successful grant or bid applications for charities, public sector organisations, community groups or commercial organisations. You should be able to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively, tailoring applications to the priorities of different funders.
You'll be organised, proactive and comfortable managing your own workload, with good attention to detail and the ability to meet application deadlines. Strong research skills and the confidence to identify new funding opportunities are equally important.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, can build positive relationships with our leadership team and isn't afraid to ask questions to better understand our projects and their impact.
Essential Skills And Experience
- Experience writing successful grant or bid applications.
- Excellent written English and communication skills.
- Strong research and organisational skills.
- The ability to present information clearly and persuasively.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating with a small team.
Desirable experience
- Knowledge of UK charitable trusts, foundations, Lottery funding or government grant programmes.
- Experience developing fundraising strategies or building a grants pipeline.
- An interest in digital inclusion, education, technology or supporting children and young people.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who shares our belief that no child should be disadvantaged because they lack access to technology or the digital skills needed to succeed.

What will you be doing?
Every Child Online has ambitious plans to expand its work over the coming years. We have a proven track record, strong partnerships and exciting new projects ready to develop, but like many charities, we need sustainable funding to turn those plans into reality.
We're looking for a volunteer who can help us establish and grow our grant funding function. Rather than simply writing individual applications, you'll help create a structured approach to grant fundraising that will support the charity's long-term growth.
Working closely with our CEO and leadership team, you'll research trusts, foundations, lottery programmes, government funding opportunities and corporate grant schemes that align with our mission. You'll help prioritise opportunities, develop a grants pipeline and prepare high-quality funding applications that clearly demonstrate the need for our work and the impact it delivers.
You'll also work with us to shape new project ideas into fundable programmes by helping define objectives, outcomes, budgets and measures of success. We'll provide all the information, project details, case studies, statistics and impact data you need, while you'll bring your expertise in presenting compelling funding proposals.
As our grant funding function develops, you'll help us establish simple systems for tracking applications, deadlines, reporting requirements and future opportunities, creating a strong foundation that the charity can continue to build upon.
This role is flexible and can be carried out remotely, with occasional online meetings to discuss opportunities and priorities. You'll become a valued member of a friendly, ambitious team that welcomes ideas, values collaboration and is committed to creating lasting social impact.
