Company Description

Uganda Lodge Community Projects is a charity focused on improving health, education, and livelihoods in rural communities in the Ntungamo, Kasese, and Rubirizi Districts of South West Uganda. The organization works in partnership with a Ugandan NGO, Stand On Your Own, to implement sustainable community projects. Key initiatives include supporting schools, health clinics, clean running water, and vocational training programs. Volunteers and supporters help strengthen local capacity while promoting long-term development. The charity values collaboration, cultural respect, and practical solutions that directly benefit local residents.

Role Description

The Volunteer Marketing Specialist role is a pro-bono remote volunteer position supporting Uganda Lodge Community Projects in raising awareness and generating engagement. Day-to-day tasks may include creating digital content for social media, websites, and newsletters, as well as drafting campaign messages and supporter updates. The role involves helping to develop and execute basic marketing strategies, maintaining consistent branding, and promoting fundraising campaigns and volunteer opportunities. The Volunteer Marketing Specialist may also monitor online channels, respond to inquiries, and gather stories, images, and updates from project teams to share with supporters. This role is suitable for individuals who want to volunteer and use their marketing skills to contribute to community development initiatives while working flexibly from any location.

  • Demonstrated skills in digital marketing activities such as social media management, email campaigns, or basic content promotion.
  • Experience in writing and editing clear, engaging content for online platforms, newsletters, or promotional materials.
  • Ability to develop simple marketing plans, organize campaigns, and track basic engagement metrics.
  • Strong communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and an interest in international development or non-profit work.
  • Comfort working independently in a remote setting, with reliable internet access and the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Prior experience volunteering or working with charities, NGOs, or community projects is beneficial but not required.
  • Relevant education or training in marketing, communications, media, or a related field is an advantage.
