About the Role
Volunteers play a crucial role in the work of Change Grow Live.
Last year, over 1400 volunteers donated 250,000+ hours of their time to support our organisation.
Would you like to join our growing team of volunteers? We’re looking for friendly, compassionate, and reliable individuals to make a real difference.
About the Service
This Meet & Greet volunteer role is essential in ensuring a safe, supportive first impression for individuals accessing our substance misuse service. Your role will help create an atmosphere that fosters respect, inclusivity, and encouragement.
Responsibilities
- Welcome service users and visitors with warmth and without judgement
- Provide support to individuals as they arrive for appointments or drop-in sessions
- Maintain a calm, safe, and inclusive environment in the reception/waiting area
- Signpost individuals to appropriate staff or services
- Offer reassurance, active listening, and emotional support when needed
- Assist staff with light administrative or engagement tasks (where applicable)

Key Criteria
We’re looking for volunteers who:
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Have a friendly, approachable, and empathetic manner
- Demonstrate reliability and commitment to volunteering
- Respect confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Show an interest in supporting people affected by substance misuse
