ENGin matches English-fluent volunteers from around the world with Ukrainian conversation partners for weekly online conversation practice. Volunteers share their culture and perspectives while helping their partner become more confident speaking English.

Since launching in 2020, ENGin has connected over 35,000 Ukrainians with over 30,000 volunteers. 99% of our learners report breaking the language barrier after 3 months in our program, and 79% of our participants form lasting friendships. Join ENGin as a conversation partner and be matched with a learner in Ukraine for weekly one-on-one English conversations. In just one hour a week, you can help someone build confidence, break the language barrier, and feel supported, all while discovering a new culture and making a genuine human connection.
We’ll pair you up with a learner in Ukraine for weekly one hour videochats at times that are convenient for you. During your conversations, you’ll facilitate English practice for your partner, learn about each other’s cultures, and offer an empathetic, authentic space for connection.

Our only requirements for volunteers are English fluency, a strong internet connection, and the ability to commit to one hour a week for a minimum of 12 weeks.
No prior tutoring experience or knowledge of Ukrainian language is needed to volunteer with ENGin. We offer ample training resources, session materials, and total flexibility to customize your sessions to fit your/your partner’s goals and preferences. Our friendly team is available to support you throughout your time with us.
