Outreach Support Volunteer – Luton Community Role
About the Role
We are recruiting Outreach Support Volunteers to make a tangible difference by promoting our services and engaging with individuals experiencing homelessness, substance misuse, and multiple needs in the Lutton community.

Responsibilities
As an Outreach Support Volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in:
- Engaging and supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and substance misuse.
- Responding to referrals and connecting with those in the community—actively engaging with rough sleepers in partnership with agencies.
- Building positive rapport, ensuring people feel heard, respected, and valued.
- Signposting individuals to relevant services, advocating for their needs, and assisting them in achieving goals.
- working alongside partner organisations to manage expectations and help individuals make positive life changes.
- Operating in sometimes fast-paced or challenging environments, requiring adaptability and quick decision-making.

Requirements
- Be 18 years or older.
- Commit to attending mandatory training (outlined below).
- Practice confidentiality and professional boundaries with sensitive cases.
- Embrace collaborative teamwork and a proactive support role.
- Must undergo an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.

Training Requirements
All volunteers must complete:
- ✅ Mandatory:
- Volunteer Induction
- Boundaries/Confidentiality
- ✅ Core (will be arranged):
- Drug Awareness
- Harm Reduction
- Alcohol Awareness Training dates* will be confirmed shortly.
