- Attending governing body and committee meetings
- Reviewing school performance data and policies
- Contributing to decisions on curriculum, safeguarding, and budgets
- Visiting the school to understand day-to-day operations

The role involves:

Qualifications
- Ability to understand and analyze written reports, numerical data, and school performance information.
- Strong communication skills, including active listening, clear questioning, and respectful discussion in group settings.
- Sound judgment, problem-solving abilities, and readiness to make objective, evidence-based decisions.
- Capacity to work collaboratively as part of a governance team, while maintaining independence and integrity.
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion within an educational environment.
- Interest in primary education and willingness to undertake training related to school governance.
- Reliability, respect for confidentiality, and availability to attend evening meetings and occasional school visits.
