Every day, our volunteers help power our mission to beat cancer. We're looking for a collaborative and organised Volunteering Executive to join us on a part-time, fixed-term basis, supporting the delivery of key volunteering activity across the organisation. Working closely with colleagues and stakeholders, you'll provide the tools, resources and expertise needed to create excellent volunteer experiences while helping drive continuous improvement across our volunteering proposition.
What will I be doing?
- Support the delivery of centralised volunteering activity and business-as-usual initiatives that enhance volunteer experience and organisational efficiency.
- Produce, maintain and improve volunteering resources, guidance and tools for colleagues across the organisation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve agreed outcomes and support proposition objectives.
- Provide expert advice and support on volunteering-related matters across Cancer Research UK.
- Ensure volunteering activity complies with relevant legislation and Cancer Research UK policies and procedures.
- Champion equality, diversity and inclusion across all volunteering activity and contribute to wider organisational objectives.
What are we looking for?
- Experience delivering a project, programme of work or defined area of responsibility.
- Proven ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience using insight, feedback or data to identify improvements and enhance audience or volunteer experiences.
- Strong communication skills, including presenting information and writing proposals or business cases.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment.
- A proactive, curious and solution-focused approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Internal eligibility criteria
Internal candidates should ideally have completed their 6-month ‘getting started’ period before applying for other roles. You should also advise your current line manager at the point you make an internal application, or at the latest, at the point of being invited for an interview.
All internal candidates applying for a secondment, must have:
- Completed their getting started period
- Discussed their intention to apply and gained approval to apply with their line manager
- Been in their substantive (home) role for at least 6 months (this is only applicable if you have previously been on secondment)
If you do not confirm that you meet these requirements, we will not be able to progress your application.
