Administrator (Hospice Volunteer Support) – 6 Month Contract
Acorns Children’s Hospice are looking for an Administrator to provide vital support to the Volunteer Hospice Team across a temporary 6 month contract position.
About the Role
At Acorns Children’s Hospice, we deliver specialist palliative care and mental, emotional, and practical support to children and families across the West Midlands, wherever and whenever they need us—in hospice, the community, or at home.
Our mission is to equip families to cope at every stage of a child’s life through dedicated teams offering:
- Psychological support
- Emotional support
- Practical support
Key Responsibilities
As the Volunteering Team Administrator – Hospice, you will:

Administrative support for volunteering teams:
- Handle phone calls, emails, and messages to volunteers
- Process correspondence and document management

Organisation & training coordination:
- Book rooms and facilities
- Collaborate with staff teams to arrange scheduling
- Send agendas/information to volunteers
- Ensure all training paperwork is completed and filed

Volunteer record management:
- Maintain systems within Asemble, our Volunteering Management System
- Assure accurate documentation of volunteer participation

Recruitment support:
- Collaborate with the reception team to check and screen applicants
- Assist in the recruitment process documentation
- Ensure volunteers have completed necessary forms and monitor:
- DBS checks compliance
- Paperwork completion

About You
We’re looking for an individual with:
- Experience in an admin environment (preferred)
- Strict discretion to uphold confidentiality at all times
- Self-motivated, innovative, and forward-thinking approach
- Adaptability to support a varied, fast-paced volunteering team
