Job Title:
Global Compliance and Legal Manager (Lloyd’s)
Responsibilities
- Manage the legal, regulatory and compliance affairs of the Allied World Lloyd’s Syndicate 2232 platform and its related entities.
- Oversee relevant UK-based legal and compliance staff members in relation to Lloyd’s matters.
- Manage the company secretarial function for the Lloyd’s-related entities.
- Oversee all Lloyd’s insurance regulatory matters.
- Head up the Lloyd’s compliance function.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Serve as the Data Privacy Officer.
- Negotiate all Lloyd’s-related contracts and other regional contracts as needed.
- Manage the Lloyd’s-related legal budget.
- Maintain good relationships with outside counsel.
- Work effectively with counsel for the Allied World Europe platform (i.e., non-Lloyd’s) for regional consistency where possible, and collaborate/assist in relevant matters.
- Work in harmony with the Legal & Compliance Department globally to maintain global consistency where possible.
- Perform such other duties as assigned from time to time.

Requirements
Experience:
- A senior attorney with at least eight (8) years of total legal experience with a recognised law firm and/or in an insurance operation.
- Must be a qualified/licensed solicitor in England.
- Strong insurance and reinsurance background, including experience relating to Lloyd’s and European matters.
- Experience dealing with the FCA, PRA, and Lloyd’s.
- Familiarity with board meetings and corporate secretarial matters.
- Knowledge of UK and EU laws and regulations and Lloyd’s principles and directives.
- Must be a team player and collegial.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a busy environment.
