Dex

Dex is an AI recruiter agent that helps you run your job search. Tell Dex your stack, seniority, and what you want to build. We will manage your applications and surface other opportunities that are a fit.

The role

This company is building a love of movement for the 96% of people who don't already go to the gym. They're proving exercise can be genuinely fun, not a chore. Their core product is in VR, with ambitious zero-to-one builds now pushing into wearable AI and AR glasses. No established playbook here.

You'll join the senior leadership team, shaping company and product direction, not just executing it. This is a hands-on VP Eng role, leading a lean team of 11 engineers. You'll coach through the work, occasionally shipping code on early prototypes. This isn't a "maintain the machine" VP Eng role. It's about building the machine, and the AI-driven way of building it, at the same time.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The work

  • Drive company and product strategy as part of the senior leadership team.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a lean engineering team of 11, coaching through close involvement.
  • Contribute technically to early prototypes, reviewing code and occasionally shipping without being on the critical path.
  • Spearhead the integration of AI to transform product velocity, from safe validation to infra restructuring.
  • Navigate zero-to-one builds in VR, wearable AI, and AR glasses, creating new playbooks.

What You Bring

  • Proven leadership experience (VP Eng, CTO, Director, Technical Co-Founder) spanning company strategy and product.
  • Shipped consumer tech products; bonus for games, fitness, wearables, or habit formation.
  • Strong backend engineering background, ideally building platform components for other engineers.
  • A genuine, demonstrable transformation of your personal or professional workflow through AI. This is non-negotiable.
  • Experience leading lean, fully remote teams, with clear opinions on what makes them effective.
