The Opportunity

Vice President Finance, Europe will be the senior finance leader for the region, responsible for:

  • Financial management and governance for AXS Europe
  • Accounting, financial reporting, payroll, treasury, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and financial operations across multiple countries.
  • Leadership of teams in:
    • UK
    • France
    • Germany
    • Sweden

Additionally, will act as an advisor to the Managing Director, Europe and serve on the senior leadership team, shaping strategic decisions and guiding growth.

Reports to:

  • Global Head of Finance (solid-line relationship)
  • Dotted-line relationship with the Managing Director, Europe

Key Responsibilities

Leading the Finance Function

  • Set strategic direction for European finance function, ensuring strong controls, governance, and performance.
  • Lead, inspire, and develop financial teams across multiple countries.
  • Partner closely with regional and global stakeholders to support business objectives.

Driving Business Performance

  • Strategic financial advice to the European leadership.
  • Oversee budgets, forecasting, and planning processes across Europe.
  • Provide regional and global financial insights, aiding investment and growth decisions.
  • Deliver timely financial reporting for performance visibility and risk assessment.

Ensuring Financial Excellence

  • Oversee accounting, payroll, treasury, tax, audit, and other financial activities across the region.
  • Manage consolidation processes and relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain strict compliance with global and local regulations.
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, working capital, and treasury operations.

Building for the Future

  • Continuously improve financial systems, controls, and reporting capabilities.
  • Ensure alignment with global finance best practices.
  • Build scalable finance structures to support international expansion.

About You

Looking for a commercial-minded, people-focused finance leader specialising in cross-border operations. Someone who thrives at both the strategic and operational levels, balancing analytical rigor with leadership.

What You’ll Bring

  • Senior finance experience in financial controls, planning, commercial finance, and accounting.
  • Strong commercial strategy execution background fueled by change management and operational transformation.
  • Leadership of geographically diverse teams and experience in multi-culture environments.
  • Direct reporting and influencing senior leaders to impact strategic decision-making.
  • Expertise in multi-currency, multinational financial operations.
  • Advanced financial modelling, systems, and advanced analytical capabilities.
  • Reducing JD Edwards or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems—a huge advantage.
  • Degree in Finance/Accounting/Business Administration or related discipline, ideally with a professional qualification (e.g., CPA, CFA, ACCA).

Salary & Benefits

  • Base salary: £150,000–£180,000 per annum + benefits
  • Eligibility for 20% discretionary annual bonus
