We’re scaling globally and are looking for a strategic thought leader—a Vice President, Finance—to partner with our CFO, advance Preply’s financial strategy, and drive executive-tailored financial storytelling. With a dynamic leadership style, exemplary financial acumen, and an innate focus on team empowerment, you’ll evolve our global FP&A, corporate finance, procurement, and PMO teams toward public-company readiness while fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
About the Role
As VP, Finance, you will serve as the trusted financial advisor to the CFO, Board, and executive team, ensuring a seamless alignment between strategic vision, financial performance, and investor confidence. Here’s what you’ll own:
Core Responsibilities

Chief Financial Storyteller
- Partner with the CFO and senior leadership to define and execute Preply’s long-term financial strategy, ensuring it supports sustainable growth, efficiency, and global expansion.
- Advise on capital allocation, investment decisions, and profitability targets, aligning business unit objectives with financial prudence.
- Develop a disciplined FP&A framework that drives operational excellence across B2C and B2B ecosystems.

Strategic Financial Leadership
- Lead end-to-end financial planning (forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management), preparing the organization to surpass growth milestones.
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and GTM teams to align financial strategy with creative direction and revenue growth.

Investor/Future-Ready Finance
- Enhance Perply’s investor communications and investor relations, ensuring transparent, accurate, and compelling financial reporting—preparing the finance team for public company standards.
- Forecast future capital markets engagement and facilitate regulatory compliance roads to ensure enterprise readiness.

System-wide Transformation
- Guarantee compliance, governance, and audit processes are robust, future-proof, and scalable to support (eventual) public-company expectations.
- Work with leadership to optimize procurement tools and financial controls, reducing friction and fostering transparency in operations.

Cross-functional program management
- Oversee the Finance PMO, driving strategic, cross-functional initiatives for confident stakeholder accountability.

- Lead AI and agentic tools adoption, modernizing processes in FP&A, procurement, and decision support.
- Identify high-impact automation opportunities across financial operations and bandwidth-clearing high-activity workflows.
- Establish AI literacy benchmarks for the finance team, ensuring AI competency becomes a core capability.

What We Need from You
We’re looking for 10+ years of elite finance leadership, exhibiting:

Executive Finance Background
- 5+ years as a senior finance leader, delivering strategic FP&A, corporate governance, and enterprise optimizations.
- Breadth of experience spanning B2C marketplaces, enterprise tech, or EdTech—preferably category-defining growth trajectories.

Public-Company Fluency
- Hands-on experience on capital-markets teams, from preparing for an IPO or SA to maintaining investor coalitions.
- Irrefutable insight into investor expectations, regulatory frameworks, and the art of financial transparency.

Investor Relations Leadership
- History of collaborating directly with CFOs and investor-relations teams to craft compelling investor narratives.

Strategic Finance Performance
- Disciplined, growth-accelerating streaks in scaling FP&A, corporate, global teams, and programs—with metric-driven validation.
- Imagine measurable bubble-bursting, cash flow liberation, or leadership-aligned projections—your impact matters.

Collaborative Leadership
- Notable distance collaboration with GTM, product, and ops teams to storm-proof strategies and drive shared stakes.

Selective Scaling Skills
- A documented empowerment legacy, scaling via training, delegation, and leadership development cultures.

Education & Certification
- Primarily rooted in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- Advanced merits preferred: de facto aligns with an MBA, CPA, or equivalent specialized credential.

- Deep promo experience streamlining AI in financial workflows—whether predicting profitability, scandalizing spend visibility, or leveraging agentic tools for procurement energy.
