The Role
We are looking for a talented software engineer to join our London front office trading technology team, where you will:
- Build and evolve server-side JVM-based systems that drive high-touch trading workflows.
- Collaborate with trading and product teams to design and maintain robust systems for:
- Order management
- Trade execution
- Real-time pricing
- Work closely with internal traders and external counterparties to ensure seamless functionality.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop systems supporting OTC markets, block trades, dealer intervention, and voice-assisted trading.
- Ensure systems are scalable, fault-tolerant, and performant under high latency.
- Continuously optimize and profile code.
- Adhere to best practices in distributed computing, Docker/Kubernetes, and cloud environments.
What You Bring
✅ 10+ years of relevant development experience ✅ Exceptional core Java skills ✅ Deep knowledge of concurrency, multithreaded programming, and JVM performance tuning ✅ Experience with high-touch trading workflows, including:
- OTC markets
- Block trades
- Voice-assisted trading ✅ Problem-solving mindset and desire to own and resolve technical challenges

🏆 Bonus attributes (but not required):
- Experience leading a development team
- Performance-sensitive environments, especially in eFX (electronic foreign exchange)
- Knowledge of fault-tolerant, high availability systems
- Experience with low-latency messaging (e.g., Aeron, 29West)
- Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS
- Familiarity with cryptocurrency ecosystems
