VP Marketing Business Manager

London, Canary Wharf
£110,000 to £120,000 basic, plus discretionary bonus
Full time office based

A leading international financial services organisation is looking for a VP Marketing Business Manager to support a senior Marketing leadership team within a growing consumer banking environment.

This is not a campaign marketing role. It is a business management role sitting at the intersection of Marketing, Finance and senior leadership.

The successful candidate will bring financial discipline, operating rhythm, investment governance and clear business insight to a large and complex marketing function.

The role would suit someone who understands how marketing works as a function, but who is equally comfortable owning budgets, tracking investment, building financial models, managing a book of work and challenging senior stakeholders with data.

The role

The VP Marketing Business Manager will work closely with senior Marketing leaders and the wider Finance and Business Management function.

They will help create the cadence, insight and discipline needed to run the marketing function effectively.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and investment tracking across the Marketing function
  • Providing clear insight into marketing spend, ROI, performance and commercial impact
  • Building visibility across the full marketing book of work, including priorities, initiatives, risks, dependencies and progress
  • Supporting senior leadership with business reviews, planning cycles, executive materials and decision-ready reporting
  • Creating the right operating cadence for the function, ensuring meetings, reviews and governance forums are useful, focused and commercially meaningful
  • Working closely with Finance, Procurement, Legal, Risk, Controls, Technology and senior Marketing stakeholders
  • Challenging assumptions, identifying gaps and helping the business make better decisions through financial and operational insight
  • Improving processes, reporting and ways of working as the function continues to scale
  • Getting hands-on with spreadsheets, models, analysis, reporting packs and delivery follow up where needed

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The person

This role would suit someone with experience in business management, marketing operations, commercial finance, chief of staff, portfolio governance or COO-style support within a large, complex organisation.

The successful candidate will need to be financially strong, commercially curious and comfortable operating in the grey. They should be the kind of person who can take something messy, ambiguous or newly forming and turn it into structure, rhythm and clarity.

The business is particularly interested in people who can demonstrate:

  • Strong financial management experience, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, investment tracking or financial modelling
  • Experience supporting a Marketing, Commercial, Product, Digital, Consumer Banking or similarly complex function
  • A good understanding of marketing as a business function, including areas such as brand, media, content, campaign investment, customer acquisition, CPA, ROI or marketing effectiveness
  • Experience managing a portfolio or book of work, including priorities, milestones, risks, dependencies and executive reporting
  • Strong senior stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence and challenge without direct authority
  • Experience working in a large, matrixed or regulated organisation
  • The ability to move between detailed financial analysis and senior-level narrative
  • A hands-on approach, with the ability to build the model, create the pack, track the actions and drive the outcome
  • Intellectual curiosity, strong judgement and the confidence to ask why
