VP of People
VP of People
Application Deadline: 1 August 2026
Department & Details
- Department: People & Talent
- Employment Type: Full Time
- Location: Zinc – London
- Reporting To: Sam Norman
- Compensation: £95,000 – £100,000 / year
About the Role
We’ve grown from 45 to 170+ people in just two years, and we’re now scaling our People function to support further growth. This is an opportunity to step into a VP of People role—your seat will be at our company’s leadership table from day one, shaping strategy that will guide Zinc from 150 to 200+ people while preserving our culture.
You’ll work hand-in-hand with our CEO and leadership team to shape org design, culture, and manager development, ensuring the right infrastructure exists to empower every Zinc team member to thrive.
This isn’t a traditional HR-backed support function—it’s a strategic leadership position with real ownership over one of the most critical forces in scaling a business. If this aligns with what you’re seeking, we’d love to hear from you! 🎉
What You’ll Focus On Initially 🏆
-
People Strategy: Define the 2-year plan for talent attraction, development, and retention to support our growth objectives. Translate business goals into actionable people priorities and report back to leadership regularly.
-
Culture & Employee Value Proposition (EVP): Preserve and amplify what makes Zinc exceptional as we scale. Create defensible culture initiatives that keep our environment vibrant and purposeful.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
