Job Title: VP, Sales and Operations, WMX

Reports To: President of EMEA, with a dotted line into WMX Leadership

Position Overview

The VP, Sales and Operations (WMX) leads cross-functionally to drive growth across WMX service lines in EMEA, specializing in ecommerce, merchandise, and physical music businesses.

This critical role bridges WMG EMEA, regional teams, and WMX global leadership, ensuring:

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Leadership

  • Localize supply chain requirements for WMG EMEA and WMX, acting as a liaison to institutions systems integration across regions.

2. P&L Management & Financial Strategy

  • Partner with global finance and WMX teams to define market-specific targets for ecommerce, merchandising, and physical music.
  • Drive margins and OIBDA targets while ensuring regional compliance.

3. Strategic Planning & Growth

  • Identify revenue opportunities across EMEA and international repertoires for all channels (e.g., ecommerce, merchandise, physical).

4. Logistics

  • Design and implement optimal fulfillment networks for D2C and multi-territory retail distribution.

5. Artist Services & Operations

  • Foster collaboration between WMX and A&R, Marketing, Tour, and Commercial Teams to optimize execution of artist campaigns.

6. Partnership Management

  • Cultivate strong relations with WMG EMEA teams and external partners/vendors as a key stakeholder in the fold.

7. Team Development

  • Empower and grow local WMX teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation—always with artist-first mindset and P&L rigor.

8. Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary voice between EMEN operational teams and global tech teams, ensuring smooth localization and system integration.

9. Data Analysis

  • Use sales/margin/fulfillment insights to refine operational efficiency, profit margins, and the overall fan experience.

10. Cross-functional Synergy

  • Align creative, marketing, finance, tax, and artist management logistics with WMX-wide global initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience: 10+ years in sales, predominantly senior leadership within the music industry (e.g., record labels, publishers, and major distributors).
  • Execution: Proven track record in multi-channel P&L growth and turbulent cross-border landscapes.
  • Teamwork: Successfully managed large teams within complex, multi-national organizations.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English with German/French (written/spoken).
  • E-commerce/Launch Controller: Specifically executed projects like merchandise tour syncs and large-scale event landscapes multi-territorially.
  • Localization: Demonstrated success with cross-border product launches and partnerships.
  • Analytics/Management: Acute business acumen, project stakeholders, cultural sensitivity.
  • Music: Passionate about music, artist brands, and the global fan community.

  • Knowledgeable on multi-currency e-commerce platforms and international payment systems.
  • Skilled in sustainable sourcing and production practices.
