About the position

We are seeking a visionary and results-driven VP of Samsung Ads (General Manager) to lead our advertising efforts in Europe. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in CTV, digital advertising, media strategy, and team leadership. This role is responsible for driving the growth of Samsung Ads in the European market by developing and executing strategic initiatives that align with Samsung's global objectives.

Role and Responsibilities

Your key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive advertising strategy for the European market, focusing on growth, innovation, and market penetration.
    • Identify and capitalize on emerging trends in digital advertising, programmatic buying, and data analytics.
  • Revenue Growth:

    • Drive revenue generation by building strong relationships with key advertisers, agencies, and partners.
    • Oversee pricing strategies, sales pipelines, and contract negotiations to maximize profitability.
  • Team Management:

    • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of sales, marketing, and additional teams (TBD).
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Product Development:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance Samsung Ads' product offerings, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of European advertisers.
    • Stay ahead of industry trends and incorporate feedback from clients to refine and expand the platform's capabilities.
  • Market Analysis:

    • Conduct in-depth market research to understand regional dynamics, consumer behaviour, and competitive landscapes.
    • Use insights to tailor strategies that resonate with local audiences and drive engagement.
  • Partnerships and Alliances:

    • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with media agencies, technology providers, and industry stakeholders.
    • Represent Samsung Ads at industry events, conferences, and forums to strengthen brand presence.

Your key people management responsibilities

  • Provide clarity on strategy, team purpose & value and define the key areas of focus and direction.
  • Support the development of your team through regular mentoring, coaching and feedback, 1:1s and on the job learning opportunities.
  • Role model inclusion for your team to build trust and psychological safety.
  • Ensure communication with your team is a core focus area including cascade of information from LT’s and relevant business updates.
  • Manage the onboarding, offboarding process and the entirety of the colleague lifecycle process for all team members.
  • Manage all annual people management cycles such as goal setting, evaluation and salary reviews to a high quality and in a timely manner.
  • To be accountable for ensuring your team are compliant with company processes and procedures; such as compliance, meeting mandatory business cyclical deadlines, and understanding the company values.

What we need for this role

To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Proven leadership experience with a track record of driving revenue growth and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of programmatic advertising, data analytics, and ad tech platforms.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Deep knowledge of the European market and its advertising ecosystem.
  • Experience leading large teams (60+) whilst delivering results, establishing relationships and collaborating internally as you work with our strategic clients.
  • Experience engaging with and influencing senior executives within our key partner and agency customers.
  • A proven track record to mobilise and scale large sales organisations.
  • Experience at an online publisher, broadcaster, ad network, ad exchange, ad server, DSP, or other online advertising role.
  • Experience establishing longstanding, consultative client relationships.
  • Experience leading commercial negotiations for large global accounts with a history of delivering results.
  • Possess the ability to coach your team, creating a strong succession plan.
  • Proven record of accomplishment of exceeding revenue expectations.
  • Willingness to travel for business meetings and company off-sites.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • You should have a consistent record of exceeding important metrics in various territories.
