The Role: Quantitative Developer (Crypto Trading Desk)
Galaxy is looking for a Quantitative Developer with a passion for quantitative trading in Crypto markets. You will collaborate with traders, quants, and engineers to design, implement, and optimize market-making and quantitative trading strategies across FX and Crypto.

Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain high-performance trading algorithms and models for Crypto markets
- Collaborate with traders and quantitative analysts to:
- Understand trading strategies
- Translate them into highly efficient coded solutions
- Optimize existing trading systems for speed, reliability, and scalability
- Integrate and ensure data integrity from new sources for accurate modeling
- Monitor and troubleshoot live trading systems, ensuring minimal downtime and peak performance
- Stay current with advancements in quantitative finance, software development, and Crypto markets
- Enhance development processes and tools within the team
- Champion the responsible adoption of AI to:
- Improve team performance
- Enhance decision-making
- Elevate output quality
- Leverage AI tools, including:
- Generative AI
- Automation platforms
- Data copilots to streamline day-to-day operations
Educational & Technical Requirements
Necessary Experience:
- Significant experience in algorithmic trading with a strong foundation in:
- Java development
- Processing tick data analytics
- Handling real-time market data feeds
- Adept in developing and deploying quantitative models and trading algorithms
- Proficiency in high-frequency/low-latency systems
- Experience working on either an FX or Cryptocurrency trading desk
- Ability to integrate and execute strategies on DeFi platforms, particularly SOL and ETH
- Demonstrated ability to cloud-based market access or hybrid deployments
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Core Areas of Expertise:
Programming & Development:
- Strong Java programming skills
- Hands-on development of backtesting frameworks and algorithmic strategies
Trading & Quant Knowledge:
- Comprehensive understanding of market microstructure, particularly in Crypto markets
- Design and implementation of market-making strategies
- Familiarity with order book dynamics, liquidity provision, and high-frequency trading (HFT)

Data and Infrastructure:
- Experience with real-time market data feeds (FixML, WebSockets, OTC)
- Proficiency in database management and data warehousing (SQL, in-memory databases)
- Knowledge of test environments and automation frameworks
Team Collaboration:
- Ability to influence and work with quantitative analysts, traders, and engineers across disciplines
Bonus Attributes
- DeFi/Crypto-specific experience
- Market making or market-making-as-a-service (MMaaS) knowledge
- Familiarity with regulatory/compliance processes (e.g., MiFID, KYC/AML in cryptocurrency spaces)
- Exposure to AWS/GCE or DevOps processes, including CI/CD pipelines
