About the Role
The VP, Risk & Pharmacy Compliance will serve as the senior leader responsible for:
- Enterprise-wide pharmacy compliance, regulatory strategy, and risk management
- Strategic direction for pharmacy compliance operations across all 50 states
- Regulatory interactions, investigations, risk assessments, and compliance governance
The ideal candidate will partner with senior leadership, legal, operations, clinical, product, and tech teams to ensure compliance excellence supports growth while meeting federal and state regulatory requirements. This leader will also advance compliance governance, strengthen regulatory readiness, and embed compliance into business strategy, innovation, and emerging technologies—including AI-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance Leadership & Governance
- Establish and lead an enterprise-wide pharmacy compliance and risk management program aligned with regulatory requirements and business objectives.
- Serve as the senior compliance advisor to executive leadership on regulatory matters, compliance risks, and emerging trends.
- Develop and execute a long-term compliance strategy supporting growth while maintaining regulatory excellence.
- Promote a culture of ethics, integrity, accountability, and compliance across Fuze Health.
Regulatory Compliance & Oversight
- Provide strategic oversight of state-level compliance activities, ensuring adherence to:
- HIPAA/HITECH
- Medicare Part D
- Medicaid regulations
- State pharmacy laws
- Other healthcare compliance frameworks
- Oversee pharmacy licensing, accreditation, certification, and regulatory reporting.
- Lead responses to audits, inspections, investigations, complaints, and inquiries from government agencies and pharmacy boards.

Risk Management & Monitoring
- Direct enterprise risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies, focusing on:
- Drug diversion
- Fraud, waste, and abuse
- Privacy & data security
- Operational compliance risks
- Oversee compliance monitoring, audits, and reporting programs to identify improvements and ensure corrective action execution.
Strategic Business Partnerships
- Partner with clinical, operations, product, tech, and legal teams to embed compliance into business processes, product development, and strategic initiatives.
- Advise leadership on regulatory implications of:
- New products, partnerships, and expansion opportunities
- Emerging technologies (AI, digital health, data governance)
- Collaborate to ensure contractual, regulatory, and accreditation obligations are met.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing compliance organization.
- Build scalable compliance processes and governance structures to support growth.
- Drive professional development and succession planning within the compliance team.
- Elevate compliance visibility and impact across the enterprise.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (advanced degree—JD, PharmD, MPH, MBA, or related field preferred).
- 12+ years of experience in:
- Healthcare compliance, pharmacy compliance, regulatory affairs, or risk management
- Highly regulated healthcare environments
- Leadership experience managing enterprise compliance programs and cross-functional teams.
- Deep expertise in:
- HIPAA/HITECH, Medicare, Medicaid regulations, OIG guidance, pharmacy laws, accreditation standards
- Enterprises like PBMs, health plans, specialty pharmacies, or large pharmacy organizations
- Hands-on experience in:
- Regulatory audits, investigations, licensing, accreditation, and risk management initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience working with executive leadership, boards, regulators, and accreditors.
- Familiarity with compliance tools and systems (e.g., regulatory intelligence platforms).
- Experience advising on AI, privacy, data governance, and digital health compliance.
- Certifications preferred (e.g., CIPP, CHC, CHPC).

Physical Requirements
- Ability to:
- Work at a computer terminal with repetitive typing and mouse use.
- Bend, reach, lift (up to 20 lbs), push, pull, and perceive fine details (visuals/audio).

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $240,000–$270,000
- Commission Eligible: No
- Equity Eligible: Yes
- Travel Requirement: Up to 20% of the time (state-specific).
