W Lounge is W Edinburgh’s social hub for guests and locals alike. Open from 9am until late, W Lounge will showcase the best of Gaelic produce in its food offering, complimented with innovative beverage concepts. Whether guests are coming for a cup of coffee, a lunch meeting, a casual dinner or cocktails, W Lounge will be the perfect place to be. Situated on the 11th floor, the space offers unrivalled panoramic view across the city, making it one of the most beautiful places in Edinburgh to work and play.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the W Lounge Manager, the W Lounge Bartender will have overall responsibility assisting in the daily operation of the bar, ensuring the bar team works together to provide exceptional service to our guests.
Joining the pre-opening team means you will be instrumental to the success of the hotel and the restaurant’s opening and beyond. We are looking for someone who is creative, motivated and passionate!
As W Lounge Bartender, key aspects of your role will include:
- Deliver the highest level of personalized service to our guests
- Prepare drink orders for guests, including bespoke W Hotels cocktails
- Issue, open and serve wine and champagne
- Assist the W Lounge floor team during peak periods when required
- Set up and maintain cleanliness and condition of the bar and tables
- Prepare fresh garnishes for drinks
- Stock ice, glassware and paper supplies
- Transport supplies to bar set-up areas
- Wash glassware
- Anticipate and communicate replenishment needs
- Process all payment methods
- Secure liquors, beers, wine, coolers, cabinets and storage areas

- Previous experience working in high-end, high-volume restaurants and/or bars
- Excellent communication skills

ABOUT THE PROPERTY
W Edinburgh will bring bold architecture and a vibrant lifestyle offering to the Scottish capital. Behind a façade featuring a winding steel ribbon – reflecting the city’s festival spirit – this 12-storey structure will be the centerpiece of Nuveen Real Estate’s Edinburgh St James Quarter, incorporating retail, leisure and entertainment facilities along with residential apartments.
This W hotel aims to help redefine the city’s hospitality landscape. Accordingly, it’ll fuse the brand’s signature amenities with modern design and W Happenings, highlighting what’s new in design, fashion, music and culture.
