Waiter - Rondo
Waiter – Rondo at The Hoxton, Holborn
About the Restaurant
The Hoxton, Holborn was the second Hoxton venue to join the group, transforming a Grade II-listed building once owned by the George Kent factory (makers of gadgets and instruments, including a historic knife sharpener now in the Science Museum). The space now houses 220 bedrooms, a luxury apartment, and Rondo—our seasonal, British-focused restaurant celebrating local ingredients and outstanding wine.
Rondo is led by Chef Tristan Downes, offering an exceptional dining experience right on your doorstep near Holborn’s shopping and entertainment districts.
What You’ll Be Doing
You are the face of the guest experience—bringing personality and passion to every table. From arrival to departure, your role is to:
- Tell the story of Rondo while making sure every guest leaves with a great memory.
- Ensure smooth, well-executed service throughout their entire visit.
- Reflect The Hoxton’s unique atmosphere with warmth, enthusiasm, and unpretentious hospitality.
What We’re Looking For
We don’t expect corporate clones—you just need to be yourself. Here’s what looks great on paper:
- An absolute love for hospitality – You thrive on creating memorable experiences for guests and colleagues alike.
- No ego, just solutions – We keep our egos in check, roll up our sleeves, and work collaboratively.
- A bolder spirit – You’re okay with trying (almost) anything just once and seeing what sticks.
- Teamwork with attitude – You’re part of a hardworking crew that supports each other and knows how to have fun.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
