Waiter/ Waitress - Soho Farmhouse (Pen Yen)

The Role…

At Soho House, a Waiter plays an essential role in delivering refined, attentive, and personalised service to our members and guests. Working closely with the floor and kitchen teams, you are responsible for ensuring a smooth dining experience while reflecting the Club’s standards of professionalism, discretion, and excellence.

Main Responsibilities

Your responsibility is to ensure that members have an enjoyable experience. You will deliver excellent service, covering:

  • Initial greeting
  • Taking orders
  • Offering recommendations
  • Handling payment securely

Key Duties

  • Warmly greet members, introduce menus, and engage with them immediately upon seating
  • Accurately take food and drink orders while accounting for allergies or dietary restrictions
  • Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely, correct order delivery
  • Provide knowledgeable menu recommendations and suggestions for food and drink pairings
  • Maintain exceptional table service, including proactive refills of water, wine, and beverages
  • Ensure tables are set up meticulously and reset post-service
  • Handle requests and accommodate special requests to deliver personalised experiences
  • Safely process payments via card, the Soho House App, or House Pay
  • Uphold discretion and professionalism, especially when serving VIPs and prominent members (PWK)
  • Attend team briefings, tastings, and assist colleagues as needed

What We Are Looking For

Experience & Skills

  • 2–3 years in a similar high-end dining environment
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-volume settings while solving problems under pressure
  • Naturally hospitable, approachable, and passionate about excellent customer service
  • Ability to be direct yet respectful toward colleagues and guests

Professional Readiness

  • Demonstrable competency in accordance with the training schedule and Club School
  • Flexible work available—including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts

Attitude & Collaboration

  • Open to taking direction, working effectively in a team, and operating autonomously

Salary Range (UK)

  • £15.50 per hour (Gross, per hour)
