Waking Night Support Worker

Thera East Preventable Learning Disabilities

We are seeking a passionate and committed Waking Night Support Worker for our dynamic team in Newmarket, Suffolk. Join us on a fixed-term contract (9 months) with options for full-time or part-time hours, earning a competitive salary of £13.30 per hour.

The Waking Night Support Worker Role

We are seeking enthusiastic support workers to join our inclusive team, supporting adults with learning disabilities. As a Waking Night Support Worker, your role will involve:

  • Empowering individuals to achieve their goals, aims, and ambitions through tailored, innovative support.
  • Varied and dynamic duties, including:
    • Helping individuals develop new skills and personal growth.
    • Providing emotional and practical support in their daily lives.
    • Assisting with personal care, independent living, leisure, employment, and travel.
    • Creating fun, enriching experiences that accommodate individual preferences.
  • Potential work settings:
    • Individual’s own home (accompanied by lone working responsibilities).
    • Community outings and activities.

Note: This role can be both rewarding and challenging, demanding patience, creativity, and adaptability.

  • Implementing person-centred plans to help individuals thrive independently.
  • Building strong trust-based relationships with those you support.

Requirements

This role is perfect for compassionate, confident individuals eager to make a tangible difference. While no prior experience or qualifications are required, you must demonstrate:

  • Comfort with lone working and experience (or willingness) to support individuals with mental health challenges.

    • High motivation, self-starter mentality with the ability to problem-solve creatively.
