Waking Night Support Worker – Barrow-in-Furness (Part-Time)
£12.85 per hour Location: Barrow-In-Furness, Cumbria Working Pattern: Part-Time (30 hours per week)
About the Role
We are seeking calm, resourceful, and energetic individuals to join our friendly team as a Waking Night Support Worker in Barrow-in-Furness.
This role involves delivering person-centred care to individuals with Autism and learning disabilities, enabling them to engage in all aspects of daily life and enjoy a variety of activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, individualised support in both domestic and community settings
- Assist with personal care, domestic tasks, and everyday activities (e.g., walking, swimming, gym sessions)
- Support individuals who may exhibit challenging behaviours, requiring patience and resilience
- Take on the optional role of Key Worker, collaborating with families and broader support networks to plan for and achieve lifestyle goals
- Act independently at times (requires experience in lone-working)
- Demonstrate positive communication and unconditional positive regard towards service users

Requirements
- Prior experience is essential, particularly in lone-working
- Experience (or capacity for) working with individuals who present challenging behaviours
- Strong ability to establish and maintain trust and positive engagement
- Familiarity with person-centred care principles is advantageous
- Willingness to embrace all aspects of the role, including physical tasks and out-of-hours support
NOTE: Full training is provided, including support towards an QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care for those who wish to pursue further qualification opportunities.
