Waking Nights Support Worker - Children's Home

Wake Night Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home

Location: Nottinghamshire

Hours: Friday, Saturday & Sunday | 10:00pm – 8:00am

Job Type: Part-Time | Permanent

We’re recruiting for a dedicated and reliable Wake Night Residential Support Worker to join a growing children’s care provider supporting young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and mild learning or developmental needs.

The organisation operates small therapeutic homes, all currently rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, with a strong emphasis on nurturing relationships, stability, and positive outcomes for children and young people.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone calm, compassionate, and resilient who enjoys providing consistency and reassurance during overnight hours.

The Role

As a Wake Night Residential Support Worker, you’ll be responsible for maintaining a safe, calm, and supportive environment throughout the night whilst ensuring the wellbeing of children within the home.

Responsibilities Include

Maintaining the safety and security of the home overnight Carrying out welfare checks and monitoring young people’s wellbeing Responding appropriately to children’s emotional or practical needs during the night Completing nightly records, logs, and handovers Supporting the home to remain calm, clean, and well maintained Following safeguarding and behaviour support procedures at all times Working closely with the wider staff team to ensure continuity of care

About You

Calm, caring, and emotionally resilient Strong communication and observational skills Reliable and able to remain alert throughout waking night shifts Passionate about supporting vulnerable children and young people Residential childcare experience desirable but not essential Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare
