Waking Night Support Worker

Location: Camborne, Tremayne, Cornwall

Hours: 18 contracted hours per week (Mon–Sun, including weekends & holidays)

Salary: £14,488.43 per annum (£15.44 per hour)

About The Role

At Advance, we’re looking for Waking Night Support Workers in Camborne to empower individuals to live fulfilling lives with the right support. We offer flexible working, competitive pay, and full training/support to launch or advance your career in Social Care.

A clean UK driving licence is helpful but not essential.

Key Duties Include:

  • Assisting with personal care and hygiene (if required)
  • Ensuring premises security and safety during night shifts
  • Supporting with meal times and food preparation (if required)
  • Administering medication (if required)
  • Encouraging independent living skills
  • Updating care plans and maintaining accurate records
  • Conducting regular safety checks on supported individuals
  • Performing domestic duties, such as cleaning and laundry
  • Staying up to date with continuous training

About The Candidate

Experience in care or support work isn’t required—what matters most is your compassion for and dedication to people with autism, learning disabilities, or complex needs.

To excel in this role, you should be able to:

  • Work independently and collaboratively
  • Communicate effectively and clearly
  • Maintain detailed and accurate Support Worker records
  • Be available to work weekends and night shifts (10pm–7am)
  • Possess or develop experience in Positive Behaviour Support (desirable)
  • Follow support plans and risk assessments
  • Achieve the mandatory Care Certificate
  • Achieve English literacy and numeracy standards
  • Demonstrate a genuine willingness to learn and adapt
