I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The service will be available weekdays from 9.00am – 5.30pm, offering telephone, Near Me, (Video conference) and face-to-face appointments at the walk-in service clinical hub. For temporary residents, not located in the Uist area, virtual appointments (telephone or Near Me) will be available and face-to-face appointment will be arranged (if necessary) in an appropriate location. From November 2026, the service will expand to be available as a walk-in provision for residents of North Uist, Benbecula and South Uist, as an alternative to attending their own GP Practice.
The post holder will be responsible for the clinical assessment and management of same-day urgent care presentations, including institution of an appropriate treatment plan and onward referral to other services as appropriate.
