Role Description
This position is for a Separation Artist with expertise in both wallcoverings and textiles on a permanent, full-time basis. The separation artist will provide the expertise in preparing and breaking down raw design artwork, (both hand painted and digital artworks) for a variety of home décor products, from wallpapers, fabrics, wall-art and more. Responsibilities include:
- Pattern creation and balancing
- Converting design work into technically sound repeating patterns whilst balancing the scale, flow and visual weight of the design in full preparation for print
- Matching CAD outputs and digital files to the original artwork to ensure the integrity of the design is upheld
- Calibration, profiling and ownership of studio-wide color consistency by calibrating and building ICC profiles for all studio monitors and large format printers
- Management of RIP software, proofing and liaising with suppliers to ensure that all design separations are technically correct, compliant with manufacturing capabilities and fully approved for final production

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Rawtenstall, 30 mins from Manchester city centre with free parking, or easy access via bus with the station directly next to our offices.
About You
- Proficiency in separation and preparation for print process for print design and textiles with experience in high-quality designs for home décor products.
- Strong skills including advanced use of design software in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and AVA CAD CAM.
- Ability to work effectively within a creative team and excellent communication and time management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Surface Design, Textiles, or a related field is preferred.
- This role has touch points across our Design and Buying teams and our supplier network so we are looking for an excellent communicator with a can-do attitude.
- Ability to spot and interpret workflow bottlenecks, and implement technical solutions that allow the creative team to focus on design rather than system limitations.
