We have an exciting opportunity available for a Ward Clerk to join our Team here at UHCW.
The post holder will be joining our Performance & Informatics (P&I) department who are well respected and the largest of our corporate services. The P&I portfolio encompasses Business Intelligence & Informatics, Information Systems Development, Clinical Coding, Data Quality and Patient Access. P&I work cross functionally to support the Trusts operational delivery of both national and internal targets which ensures the highest standards of patient care are delivered. A robust Performance Management Framework is embedded across UHCW that tracks and evaluates progress and supports both operational and clinical governance frameworks. New opportunities at a national level are being developed by P&I in areas of health inequality, waiting list management and system working.
As a Ward Clerk You Will Be Expected To
- Act as the first point of contact for dealing with routine enquiries and take action as necessary liaising with others as appropriate. This includes reception cover duties during working hours.
- Communicate with staff, patients and/or external organisations using appropriate methods.
- Maintain both manual and electronic filing systems and databases, as required by the department and Trust policies, ensuring all documents are accurately and appropriately archived.
- Maintain an efficient and comprehensive administrative service, including photocopying, providing support to the departments and other team members as requested.
- Utilise relevant Trust EPR systems, as determined by the role, ensure all relevant patient data is collected and input accurately in line with Trust guidelines.
