Paediatric Unit – Clerical/Administrative Support Role
Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic team within the Paediatric Unit.
The successful applicants must demonstrate:

Main Duties & Responsibilities
The postholder will provide clerical, administrative, and IT support to medical, nursing, and other staff regarding patient care. While primarily based in a specific ward, the role may require temporary redeployment across the NHS trust to cover short absences.

Key responsibilities include:
- Welcoming new patients onto the ward by verifying details in records and ensuring clinical notes are up to date
- Ensuring identity bracelets are available for nursing staff
- Compiling and preparing documentation for emergency patients
The position is part of a collaborative team comprising doctors, nurses, support staff, and clerical/administrative colleagues, working together to deliver high-standard care for children, young people, and their families.

Hospital Transformation Programme (HTP) – Relocation (2028)
As part of HTP, our service will relocate to The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in 2028 to deliver improved patient care and team experience.
All successful candidates will be expected to move with the service in early 2028. This change will follow a structured management process, including full staff consultation and support.
