Where exceptional care goes beyond clinical treatment. We’re looking for a motivated and personable Ward Host to be a key link between our patients and the catering team—ensuring every meal is served with care, attention to detail, and a smile.
You’ll play an essential role in creating a positive patient experience, from taking and delivering meal orders to maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety. As the friendly face of our catering service, you’ll also support the kitchen team during peak periods and help ensure our service runs smoothly from start to finish.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Taking and communicating food and beverage orders for patients, visitors, and staff
- Preparing trays and trolleys for meal service based on specific dietary needs
- Supporting kitchen operations by serving, preparing cold dishes, and restocking service areas
- Ensuring high standards of hygiene, food safety, and customer satisfaction
- Attending training in food hygiene, allergen awareness, and health & safety
- Playing an active role in patient feedback and service improvement

About you:
- A team player with excellent communication skills
- Enthusiastic, dependable, and ready to get stuck in
- Flexible with working hours, including weekends and evenings

- Willing to complete Level 2 Food Safety training (training provided if needed) Bonus if you already have completed certificate!
- Basic knowledge of safeguarding practices
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Experience in healthcare or hospitality settings
- A friendly, patient-focused personality
Location:
The Horder Centre, Crowborough
Contract Type:
Permanent, Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)
Shift Pattern:
5 out of 7 between Monday to Sunday
Shifts:
7am–3pm / 11am–7pm / 1pm–9pm (Enhanced pay after 7pm)
Salary:
£24,784.50 - £24,979.50 per annum
Right to work in the UK
In accordance with Home Office guidance, successful candidates will be required to evidence their right to work in the UK before commencing employment. We have assessed this role and it does not meet the criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route. As such, we will not be accepting any visa sponsorships for this role, and candidates must be able to demonstrate their right to work in the UK independently, without sponsorship from Horder Healthcare.
