New Opportunity: Ward Hostess/Host – Zero Hours

A new position has opened for a Ward Hostess/Host – Zero Hours to join the Medirest Family, part of the dedicated Patient Dining team.
About the Role
In this dynamic role, your everyday work will consist of:
- Creating a warm, welcoming environment for patients.
- Supporting patients with nutrition and hydration needs.
- Facilitating high-quality catering services that make a difference.
Shift Pattern
- Variable shifts
- Contracted to weeks per year
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include:
- Providing menus and taking patient orders while supporting dietary and allergen enquiries.
- Preparing and delivering refreshments and meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Clearing ward areas, washing dishes, and ensuring the kitchen is fully prepared for the next service.
- Liaising with ward staff to ensure patient needs are met promptly and efficiently.
- Delivering a consistently high standard of customer service, prioritising the patient’s experience.

Requirements & Skills
Our ideal Ward Hostess/Host will:
- Be aware of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Have a strong passion for patient care, with the ability to:
- Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare staff.
- Work under pressure, independently and within a team.
- Embrace a flexible approach to meet workplace demands.
- Be comfortable working in a hospital environment, understanding that you may encounter patients who are unwell or distressed.
Factor Doesn’t Matter Most – Attitude Does!
Previous experience as a Ward Host/Hostess isn’t essential. What matters most is:
- Taking pride in your work.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and go the extra mile for patients.
