New Opportunity: Ward Hostess/Host – Medirest Family
Are you passionate about customer service and making a difference in the healthcare field? We’re looking for dedicated individuals to join our Patient Dining team as a Ward Hostess/Host!
About the Role
This role involves providing warmth, efficiency, and exceptional care while facilitating patients’ nutrition and hydration needs. Every shift brings variety, and you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring a welcoming environment for those who rely on our service.
Shift Patterns:
- 4 out of 7 days
- Role contracted to weeks per year
Key Responsibilities
- Provide menus and take patient orders, handling dietary and allergen queries.
- Prepare, deliver, and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner refreshments.
- Clear and sanitise ward areas, ensuring kitchens are fully prepared for the next service.
- Collaborate with ward staff to promptly address patient needs.
- Exemplify luxurious customer service with patients as the top priority.

Our Ideal Ward Hostess/Host
- A strong awareness of food & hygiene standards.
- A passionate dedication to patient care, with excellent communication skills for patients, visitors, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team, with flexibility to meet operational demands.
- Confidence in working within a hospital environment, including handling sensitive situations with unwell patients or distressed individuals.
- Dedication to quality service—no prior experience necessary, but commitment and willingness to go the extra mile are essential.
