About the Role
A new opportunity has arisen for a Ward Hostess/Host to join the Medirest Family. We are seeking passionate individuals to join our highly dedicated Patient Dining team, delivering outstanding catering services.
As a Ward Hostess/Host, you'll create a warm and welcoming environment for patients. Every day presents unique challenges, and your role is vital in supporting patients’ nutrition and hydration needs—giving you the opportunity to make a genuine difference.
Shift Patterns
- Relief coverage
- Contracted weeks per year
Key Responsibilities
- Provide menus and take orders from patients while supporting dietary and allergen queries
- Prepare and deliver refreshments and meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner services
- Clear down ward areas, wash dishes, and ensure the kitchen is fully prepared for the next service
- Liaise with ward staff to meet patients’ needs promptly
- Deliver outstanding customer service by always prioritising patients

Ideal Ward Hostess/Host Requirements
We’re looking for individuals who:
- Have an awareness of food & hygiene standards
- Are passionate about patient care and can communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare staff
- Can work under pressure, independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Have a flexible approach to accommodate business needs
- Feel comfortable and confident working in a hospital environment, including contact with unwell or distressed patients
Experience in ward hosting isn’t required, but pride in your work and a willingness to learn and go the extra mile for patients are essential.
